The Essex EGP-155C is Essex’s smallest grand piano at 155 cm (5′ 1″) in length, yet it is not small when it comes to musical presence and volume, thanks to carefully crafted Steinway-designed features that maximize the potential of this instrument. Perfect for homes where space is at a premium but musical quality cannot be compromised. Designed by Steinway & Sons, the EGP-155C incorporates the innovative ‘wide tail’ design that creates 6% more surface area in the soundboard compared to traditional baby grands of similar size, producing a richer, fuller sound.
The rim features European Maple outer laminations and European Beech inner laminations for optimal stability and resonance. Features include a solid spruce soundboard (not laminated) with special tapered profile for superior acoustic qualities and better tonal volume, cast iron plate engineered to withstand 20 tons of string tension, and Steinway-designed all-wood action parts for superior responsiveness and control.
